What is expected lifetime of the covers and plugs?
Aviatema covers and plugs are manufactured from durable, UV-resistant materials designed for demanding outdoor use. Under normal operating conditions, including regular exposure to sunlight and varying weather conditions, the expected service life is up to 5 years, depending on the operating environment, frequency of use and proper handling.
Can the same maintenance shelter be used on both Airbus and Boeing aircraft?
It depends on the shelter type. Many Aviatema inflatable maintenance shelters are designed to fit multiple aircraft models within the same aircraft family. However, due to differences in aircraft geometry and maintenance access requirements, some shelters are engineered for a specific aircraft type to ensure the optimum fit, durability and wind resistance.
How is the shelters secured against high winds?
All Aviatema inflatable maintenance shelters are equipped with special flaps on the bottom tube for the ballast bags or weights to be secured on. Additionally, shelters are equipped with tie-down points at various heights of the shelter outter layer to attach tie-down ropes and reduce movement in high wind conditions.
What is the average manufacturing lead time?
Most standard products are stocked at Boeing Distribution warehouses in the USA and Germany for immediate availability. Custom products or items temporarily out of stock are typically manufactured and ready for dispatch within 30 calendar days.
